My illustrated poetry books are now on Amazon: TIPTOEING THROUGH PARIS PUSHING THE HIGH NOTE PICNIC ON THE PRINT As a nearsighted kid hiding behind thick glasses, I spent hundreds of hours dreaming of faraway places, fingers glued to my paintbrush and mind focused on the fascinating things people said and did. I angled around the rigors of geometry while finding humorous contexts for the various shapes such as the isosceles triangle which I used to depict the Isosceles Bartender in my AMUSINGS gallery. La Brasserie in Le Notre Dame Hotel -- been there many times when visiting Shakesphere & Co. and another bookstore owned by a Canadian friend -- great memory Barbara! l/f
Barbara Chase replied:
Indeed we both can thank Paris for her memories! Lots of evenings spent crawling through books and up the narrow stairway. My favorite part of the store was those faded-red stairtreads which supported so many wornout soles (souls) in their lifetime...all those tired-hungry-yet-to-be-discovered authors.

...wonderful Barbara -- close to Shakesphere & Co. bookstore. l/f
Barbara Chase replied:
Such a memorable spot, isn't it? There's a pied-e-terre around the corner from Shakespeare & Co. on Saint-Julien le Pauvre, where I spent a few months one winter and passed by this place nearly every day.

I do love your perspectives, Barbara! These cafe tables are perfect for some of the figurative cafe art I enjoy doing. Very french
Barbara Chase replied:
They are such a quintessential part of Paris...these happened to be on Quai Saint-Michel across the Seine from the Notre Dame. 😊
