My illustrated poetry books are now on Amazon: TIPTOEING THROUGH PARIS PUSHING THE HIGH NOTE PICNIC ON THE PRINT As a nearsighted kid hiding behind thick glasses, I spent hundreds of hours dreaming of faraway places, fingers glued to my paintbrush and mind focused on the fascinating things people said and did. I angled around the rigors of geometry while finding humorous contexts for the various shapes such as the isosceles triangle which I used to depict the Isosceles Bartender in my AMUSINGS gallery. Double entendre shares equal space on my palette, alongside burnished ochres and cadmium reds. When the shutterbug within created the series titled ILLUMINATIONS, it required thousands of hours, a macro lens, a light box, and a gazillion...

My Dad and your Dad were a bit the same in that they worked in Parks. My Dad quit a desk job to work as a State Ranger and loved moving from park to park in Michigan. A wonderful tribute to your Dad! Well done. FAV
Barbara Chase replied:
Hi there, Reynold! It is a great legacy we can treasure! We are lucky!! I once painted (a gauche) from an old photograph of my dad packing out with his horses after an early deep snowfall --- the horses were knee-deep and the painting was mostly white on white. :) He was in Yellowstone in its early days. He was himself a wonderful black and white photographer. I never did think to ask him how he managed to set up that picture.

wow another beauty love the more expressive feel of this one very beautifully rendered and love your technique and unique style fl
Barbara Chase replied:
This is piece was inspired by my dad, who was a park ranger in Yellowstone. He would ride back into a place called "One Mile Ranger Station" in the early spring...and ride back out after the first snowfall. It's nice to know that maybe my connection with him shows in this piece.....there is one more piece I did with him in miind which I titled called "A Good Day Never Comes to an End." You may stumble across it at some point, and if you do, you will know that's him. :))
