I found this next to the Park Ranger . In that I commented on it and then today found your Dad was a park ranger rang a bell. My Dad was a Park Ranger as well. He worked an office job most of his life and then followed his heart and became a State Park Ranger for many years. I like the beams of light that make this special for this viewer. FAV.

Barbara Chase replied:

That is a fascinating and fun coincidence, Reynold. There's always been a romantic ring to the park legacies. My Dad was in Yellowstone in the 30s and 40s...packed in on horses in the spring, and packed out when the snow began to stick. He also oversaw CCC groups at times. But he spent most of his summers alone and in more remote areas. He met my mother while she was working one summer at a dude ranch in Jackson Hole. He came riding into town one day. And the rest, as they say, is history. :-)

Barbara, this morning I was walking in your galleries - a festival for my eyes, like this fantastic, storytelling work. It has its own miraculous aura, an invitation to dream. In the far distance I can sense the other boat and the one she is waiting for. The romance will start......... (LF)

Barbara Chase replied:

I love your story...which tells her story...which, in turn, tells THE story... :-) ...thank you, Dagmar!

About Barbara Chase

Barbara Chase

My illustrated poetry books are now on Amazon: TIPTOEING THROUGH PARIS PUSHING THE HIGH NOTE PICNIC ON THE PRINT As a nearsighted kid hiding behind thick glasses, I spent hundreds of hours dreaming of faraway places, fingers glued to my paintbrush and mind focused on the fascinating things people said and did. I angled around the rigors of geometry while finding humorous contexts for the various shapes such as the isosceles triangle which I used to depict the Isosceles Bartender in my AMUSINGS gallery. Double entendre shares equal space on my palette, alongside burnished ochres and cadmium reds. When the shutterbug within created the series titled ILLUMINATIONS, it required thousands of hours, a macro lens, a light box, and a gazillion...
